What is LEAD Hutto?

LEAD Hutto is a Chamber-sponsored program designed to identify, educate, and inspire community leaders by exposing them  to a broad cross-section of public and private industries and organizations, familiarizing each candidate with the history, values, and ethos of the Hutto community, in hopes that they both adopt our historic values and help prepare us for our future opportunities.

 

What is the Program?

It is an 11-week leadership program that runs from January through May 2024, focusing on personal leadership skill development, preparation for local/civic leadership, and exposure to various sectors of Hippo nation. A culminating celebration (with certificates), takes place in May.

What is the Curriculum?

 

 

Each session runs approximately 90 minutes focusing on the personal growth of the participants

through an in-depth exploration of the organizations and services listed below. During each session, participants will learn from panel discussions, presentations, on-location tours, hands-on experiences, one-on-one interaction with community leaders and group activities.

Who Should Apply?

 

  • Anyone new to Hutto.
  • Anyone interested in networking with leaders from the community.
  • Anyone interested in learning about the resources available for business owners/leaders.
  • Anyone looking to have relational influence within the community.
  • Anyone wanting to see the key places and meet the key people of Hutto - but have never really known how/where to get started.
  • Anyone interested in building meaningful relationships with other like-minded aspiring leaders in Hutto.
Tuition?
$150 paid by check or card before January 1, 2024. If paying by card, call the office at 512-759- 4400.

Speaker: Mayor Mike Snyder

About Speaker: 

Mike Snyder, a Hutto resident since 2017, became Mayor in March 2021 with a focus on integrity and transparency. A real estate developer and QuikTrip’s Austin-area real estate manager, he was appointed to the Hutto Economic Development Corporation in May 2021. Snyder excels in relationship building, contract negotiations, financial analysis, and strategic planning.

About Speaker: 

Mike Fowler, a resident historian and the author of “The Capitol Story: Statehouse in Texas,” “Hutto Lutheran Church: A Century of Community Faith,” and various other publications, is a retired State of Texas employee with a dedicated service of twenty-five years. Additionally, he served as Councilman and Mayor of the City of Hutto for a quarter of a century. Widely recognized as the pro-growth “Hippo Mayor,” Mike achieved notable successes for Hutto, including securing long-term water sources and acquiring the CO-OP
site for the city.

Through a collaboration with Best Version Media, a brand focused on “Bringing People Together,” they highlight families, organizations, business owners, and residents in Hutto Living to actively engage homeowners and readers. Their passion lies in adding genuine value to their network and community, creating environments that foster connections with like-minded individuals.

About Speaker: 

Dr. Raúl Peña was named Superintendent of Schools in September 2023, becoming the first Hispanic male to hold the top leadership position of Hutto ISD, which serves more than 10,000 students.

A believer in the power of collective forces working together to influence change, Dr. Peña has dedicated his life to supporting families and students. The son of immigrant parents and an English learner himself, he recognizes the needs of students and their parents who are learning English as a second language. Dr. Peña approaches every relationship through the lens of inclusivity, respect, gratitude and humility.

Leading the way at Bonura Studios is Elizabeth Bonura, a highly accomplished sculptor with over 20 years of experience. Her passion for art is evident in every piece she creates, and her expertise shines through in the intricate details and captivating forms of her sculptures.

Not only is Elizabeth a talented artist, but she is also deeply committed to fostering a thriving arts community in Hutto. Currently serving on the board of the Hutto Arts and Entertainment Commission, Elizabeth actively works towards promoting local artists and creating opportunities for artistic

 

Felix Jaimes:

Digital product designer working with startups, agencies, and in-house teams to create digital products and improve experiences through research, rapid prototyping, and testing. Areas of focus include digital product design, user experience design, design sprints, user interface design, and web design.
