City of Hutto Statement on Student Walkout and Public Safety Measures
The City of Hutto is aware of a student walkout that took place this afternoon involving Hutto ISD students. In preparation, Hutto Police Department and Hutto Emergency Management worked closely with other area agencies to make sure students could move safely through public areas.
The Hutto Police Department deployed officers along the route to help manage traffic and keep everyone safe. Officers were staged at key intersections, including Chris Kelley at Highway 79, Exchange Boulevard at Highway 79, and Co-Op Boulevard at Highway 79, primarily to monitor pedestrian movement and remain available if assistance was needed.
Thanks to these coordinated efforts, the event concluded without major incidents. Traffic delays were minimal, and normal conditions have since resumed.
The City of Hutto remains committed to the safety and well-being of Hutto ISD students and all members of our community.
