Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce Awarded Grant to Advance Workforce Development and Postsecondary Attainment

HUTTO, Texas — The Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce has been selected as one of only five chambers nationwide to participate in the Rural Postsecondary Attainment & Ecosystem Alignment Program, an initiative of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Foundation in partnership with the ECMC Foundation.

As part of the program, the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce will receive a $15,000 subgrant along with individualized and technical group assistance to develop a community action plan focused on increasing postsecondary attainment and strengthening workforce development throughout the region.

The program was created to help rural communities build stronger talent pipelines by aligning education, workforce training, employers, and community organizations around a shared vision for economic success. Chambers selected for the initiative will serve as conveners, bringing together local leaders to identify workforce needs and create pathways that connect education to meaningful career opportunities.

“We are honored to be selected for this important initiative,” said Tim Jordan, President of the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce. “As Hutto continues to experience tremendous growth, investing in workforce development is critical to ensuring our businesses have access to skilled talent while creating opportunities for residents to succeed. This grant will help us strengthen partnerships across education, industry, and community organizations to better prepare our workforce for the future.”

According to Sheree Anne Kelly, President and CEO of ACCE, “Chambers of commerce have the trust and convening power to bring business, education, and community leaders together around the challenges and opportunities shaping the future. Programs like this help chambers move from reacting to change to actively shaping what comes next for their

rural communities”. The Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce joins four other chambers selected from across the country:

· Livingston County Area Chamber of Commerce

· Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce

· Royal Gorge Chamber Alliance

· The Chamber of Manitowoc County, Inc.

Through this initiative, the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce will work alongside local businesses, educational institutions, workforce organizations, and community stakeholders to develop a roadmap to improve post-secondary completion rates and align talent development efforts with employer needs.

The grant supports the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and developing a workforce that is prepared to meet the demands of Hutto’s rapidly expanding economy.
