About Us

Texas State Technical College, a state-supported two-year institution with multiple campuses across Texas, focuses on providing technical education and training to meet the state's workforce demands. Founded in 1965, TSTC emphasizes hands-on learning and close collaboration with business and industry partners to ensure that graduates possess relevant skills for high-demand jobs.

TSTC is authorized to serve Texas by the Legislature. The college focuses on excellence in instruction, public service, faculty and manpower research, and economic development. It offers highly specialized technical programs, with primary consideration given to the industrial and technological workforce needs of the state. TSTC stands out with its unique funding model, which is tied to graduate employment outcomes, highlighting its commitment to student success in the workforce.

To address the workforce needs in the fast-growing Austin region, TSTC began operating out of the East Williamson County Higher Education Center in Hutto in 2013. The campus currently offers Associate of Applied Science degrees and certificates of completion in Computer Networking and Systems Administration, Cybersecurity, HVAC Technology, Industrial Systems, Precision Machining Technology and Welding Technology.

In February 2025, TSTC broke ground on a new 70,635-square-foot facility, the Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence, to expand its program offerings in Williamson County. The building is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
