Community updates are followed by a featured speaker.\n\n \n\nSPEAKER: PETER GORDON - COUNCIL PLACE 4\n\n\n\nABOUT: \n\nPeter Gordon was first elected as Hutto City Councilman Place 4 in a special election 2019.  He was re-elected in 2020 and again in 2023. During his time on Council he has served as liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission.  He has also led efforts to streamline and improve City processes\, including Council protocols\, Board nominating process and City Manager reviews.\n\nCouncilman Gordon has worked as a Project Manager for Dell Technologies since 1999\, earning his Project Management Professional (PMP ) Certification in 2004.  His current role is supporting custom server solutions for key Dell customers including Fortune 500 companies\, the US Federal Government and US military.\n\nPeter was born and raised in central Utah\, and spent two years living in South Africa in the early 1990s as a full-time missionary for his church.  He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1997 with a BA in Political Science.  He moved to the Austin area in 1998 with his wife and two sons\, choosing Hutto as their home in 2001.  They have since added three more children and two grandchildren to their family.  All five children are graduates of Hutto High School.\n\nPeter was selected by his fellow councilmembers to serve as Mayor Pro Tem in 2022 and again in 2023. He also serves the community as a member of the board of directors for the Hutto YMCA and his local homeowners association.  He is a past board member of Keep Hutto Beautiful and continues to serve in an individual capacity to maintain the Peterson Community Garden.  He is an active member of the Rotary Club and has served on the Hutto ISD Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion Committee from its inception in 2020.
